Accies prove too strong for spirited
Selkirk 'A' XV
DESPITE the scoreline, Selkirk's 'A's players gave a good account of themselves in Saturday's friendly against
Edinburgh Accies 2nds at Philiphaugh. The visitors had several senior players in their ranks coming back from injury,
as well as fielding three members of the Edinburgh Development XV.
"The boys gave a big-hearted performance," said Selkirk coach Cameron Cochrane after the match, "and
their work rate was first class. Unfortunately Accies had too much experience for us, but the whole Selkirk team
deserves credit for battling right to the final whistle."
Ahead 12-0 at halftime, the visitors made their superiority count in the final quarter of the game, running in
four tries as Selkirk's players began to tire. Gala's Berthinussen brothers were always to the fore for Accies.
