Excellent start for 2nds before League starts next week
SELKIRK chose to play into a fairly stiff breeze
in the first half and to handle the ball along the back line. They were quickly rewarded by a try by winger Andrew
Scott after five minutes of open play.
The home team had a lot of pressure and ground
despite the wind in their face, but some slack handling by Selkirk and some very good defensive work by Moray House
kept the score down to 5 -0 until the 27th minute when Alistair Lyall scored a great try.
Selkirk then started to win good ball for the back
line to work with and further tries by David Gray and Scott Tough kept the scoreboard moving along. All conversions
by Craig McDougall where missed.
In the second half, Moray House came straight out of the blocks and quickly got on the scoreboard with a well taken
try, which was also converted. This stung Selkirk into action and the tries for Selkirk came at regular intervals
from Mathew Robertson, Alistair Turnbull and Craig McDougall, the last being converted by Mike Davies.
Full marks to Moray House who came down to Selkirk and gave the boys a really good work out and set us up for the
first league game of the season this week against Kelso 2nds
