by defeating West at Philiphaugh. The team, running the ball at every opportunity managed a flying start with Brendan

yet.
SELKIRK STORMERS 31 PORTOBELLO 14
The Stormers won their first match of the season
at Philiphaugh with a scoreline of 31 - 14. Having received the points from last week's match which was cancelled
late in the day by Edinburgh Acads, the Stormers are now played 2, won 2.
The first half was all Stormers and after some good old fashioned rucking, Donny Mckenzie and Neil Cruikshank scored
excellent tries. Unfortunately, young Andrew Scott dislocated his elbow and required hospital treatment. Everybody
at Selkirk RFC wishes Andrew a speedy recovery.
Portobello produced some decent rugby in the second half and scored 2 converted tries. However, the Stormers regrouped
and scored a further 3 tries from Doug Swinbanks, Chris Fairbairn and Chris Shand. Shand converted 3 of the tries
for an impressive 11 point haul. A special mention to the new coach, Neil Wood who managed to play the last 15
minutes. There's life in the old dog yet !!
