Al Sood is a Black Straight Egyptian, great grandson
of the legendary stallion Ansata Ibn Halima from the famous Ansata stud in the U.S.A. Thirteen generations back
on his tail female line he is a descendent of the Abbas Pasha desert mare Ghazieh.

Good head, wide between the eyes, lovely neck, set well into a sloping, powerful shoulder with a defined wither.
Good bone, short cannons and strong feet.
Now in his twenties he still has clean limbs and has maintained a long floating stride, perfect for endurance.

Purchased as a foal Al Sood has been kept all his life in a non-competitive non-showing yard on a working farm.
He was placed in hand at the Royal Highland Show his only outing. As well as stud duties every year since a 2
year old he has been ridden extensively, hunted with the Duke of Buccleuch Foxhounds and taken part in many Borders
Common Ridings, which can involve up to 400 horses.
A fertile and prepotent sire, Al Sood is a proven producer of quality foals who inherit his amazing temperament.
They are sensible and renowned for trainability, taking everything in their stride. The quality and suitability
of his offspring for endurance has become apparent over the years. As well as their strength, stamina and character
it has been noted they have particularly good heart rate recovery.
