Earlston 26 Selkirk ‘A’ 19 |
|
‘A’ team miss out at Earlston |
Selkirk never gave up, however, and tries by Allen Jamieson and replacement Craig Hunter, one of which was converted by Lyall, put the result in the balance right until the final whistle. A definite plus-point for Selkirk was the reappearance of lock Grant Ruthven after a lengthy injury lay-off, while it was also encouraging to see Mark Easson pull on the No. 10 jersey after a spell on the sidelines with a back strain. SELKIRK ‘A’ — B. Armstrong, G. Owen, G. Lyall, C. Cochrane, A. Jamieson, M. Easson, M. McVie, G. Ruthven, D. Lithgow, A. Johnston, R. Conway, N. Purves, G. Jeffrey, C. Kemp, R. Crockatt, B. Hoggan. Replacements (all used) — R. Conway, C. Hunter, C. Patterson. |
